I could have easily put these photos in the "Gallery" section but I thought I would shift it to the "Adventure" section so I can write a bit about it and give more credit to my frost-bitten fingertips.
Dayton, Ohio got its first snow of the new year last night (January 9th, 2016). I woke up to an abnormally bright light seeping through my blinds and I peered through to see a light layer of snow. It felt like I was transported back to a few weeks earlier when I was hoping for such a sight on the days leading up to Christmas. I instantly made plans to go and take some photos of the snow and my dad and twin sister joined me. I first had to scrap the man van free of snow and ice but a half an hour of work still wouldn't unfreeze the passenger doors so anyone sitting in the back had to climb through the trunk.
We went to Sugarcreek Metro Park which is a short drive for us and spent over an hour essentially escorting me around the park as I took photos. It's nice to have people with you when you take photos but if they aren't taking pictures as well I feel bad for hanging them up as I stand in spot fiddling with settings to get the right photo. But it was great to have some of my family with me.
We walked through the snow covered field, which has provided for a lot of my recent photos in the "Gallery". We then headed along the path that cut through the snow laced woods. If you've been to Sugarcreek you will know that they have a great stone staircase that leads down to a tributary of the Little Miami River. This staircase has always been a spot where careful footing is important but especially today with a thin film of snow coating the stone.
After a quick lap along the river we headed back to the car to head to Celebration Farm, where my brother works. The photos taken at the horse farm are always some of my favorites but some of the hardest to capture, due to the dim light filtering through the windows.
Tired of typing at this point and not sure if I have anything else to say. Hope you enjoy the photos and thanks for making the effort to find, view and read through my site.
Thought I would also add a song that I thought echoed with the photos.
Shooting in the field and I see these overhead. Turn and click the shutter.
(Above): Trigger happy on these tree trunks.
(Above): Been working on the same B&W roll of film for a couple months now and I think its complete. It will be interesting to see what all is on here and how they turn out.
(Above): The lighting!
(Above): This horse (forgot its name) continued to pose like this for at least 10 frames. Again, the lighting was incredible.

(Above): Literally shovels shit for work but he loves this place.
