I've been working on a single roll of B&W film for the past couple of months and it's been so long that I forgot what all I took. This roll of film was heavily based on making portraits of the people in my life, so I hope you enjoy that. But since its been so long since the last roll and my last "Adventure" post I thought I would write a bit about some of the photos. Check out the song while you read/observe.
These first two photos (above and below) are some of my favorites because of the contrast between the ground and sky.
These two photos are of Casey (above) and Tavis (below). Both of whom are 21 and older (disclaimer). But this was taken on one of the first weekends back to school and although you can't tell, it was extremely warm and nice out. Casey and Tavis could easily be on a Blue Moon ad.
The above photo is of Alex and was taken on the same day as Tavis and Casey's portrait. I tried to make her laugh and smile for the photo and it worked, must've been pretty funny.
I took this photo a few days after the attacks in Paris and thought I would capture it on film to remember the horrific events that took place that day.
A photo of my family and I with our grandparents taken on Christmas Eve. Lucky to have them.
Puddle self-portrait with messy hair.
Patrick in the wilderness.
This one turned out better than I could've hoped. This is of Lauren in the field of Sugarcreek Metro Park. She tried to play it cool for a second and may have smiled right after this photo was taken.
Photo of my dad and Madison walking through a fresh blanket of snow at Sugarcreek Metro Park.
Patrick Bateman or Scott? Unsure but either way this photo turned out with plenty of good vibes. What you can't see is the incense burning.
Christian and Blue Steel in afternoon light streaming through the windows.
Steve basking in the light atop KU after taking some time lapses and losing footballs on the nearby roof.
Carpe Diem: This was really strange. So one Friday night I set my alarm clock for 6am the following morning, hoping to wake up and shoot the sunrise. When the alarm did sound I fought to climb of bed. The hardest part was complete. I had plans to go to a local Metro Park and shoot from atop a tower to get a good view of the surrounding area. But I forgot I didn't have the car so instead I hiked across campus in the morning chill and set up my GoPro and watched the sun awake. I saw the sky change from black to pink in a few moments and the vow to take in every moment of the day came to mind. Then I felt the urge to walk around while the GoPro snapped away. I saw a brick building a short distance away and there on the brick was the similar phrase of "Carpe Diem".
It was pretty eerie. Story time is over. Thanks for listening.
Here's a photo of Charlie in the morning light but what you cannot see is his bronze tin cup that often houses his signature R&C.
Above is Adam and Christian's dog named Buster who hung out with us on a beautiful Saturday. At one point, Adam was left with Buster for a few hours while Christian and I lifted insane amounts of weight at the gym (yea, we work out on occasion). But Adam and Buster watched soccer for a couple hours and became inseparable afterwards.
Here is Buster as he lounges in his throne outside.
Above is Erin. Throughout a couple of weeks I hounded Erin to let me take her picture so that I could finish the roll. So one day she paid us the honor of stopping by and hitting us with a pose straight off of the runway.
Here's one more of Steve and how great is that gleam in his left eye? Film is great.
Thanks for checking these out. Hope you enjoyed them and were amazed at the professionalism of all the models photographed above.
