My family and I spent the weekend in the windy city of Chicago for my little sister's volleyball tournament. Although we experienced chilly temperatures, rain and foggy days it was still a great getaway. Within the course of three days I walked over 49,000 steps and over 20 miles. It was tiring but I liked to think of it as a weekend conditioning for our Arizona trip coming up.
We walked atop Lake Erie via the Navy Pier, explored the subterranean streets of downtown Chicago, traversed the lakefront to view the city from the Adler Planetarium, and visited the green spaces of Grant and Millennium Park. In Grant Park they were hosting the Chicago Blues Festival and we were able to catch a part of Clarence Carter's set (you can hear one of his hits below). People were going nuts for it as you will see in the case of a particularly long haired gentleman in the photos below. It was also my mom's birthday this weekend and my twin sister flew in from Pittsburgh to surprise her.
So all-in-all it was a great weekend.
In closing remarks, enjoy the first of hopefully many adventure posts.
We saw Clarence perform live in Grant Park for the Chicago Blues Festival. I really enjoyed this song and hope you do too.
